Rather than unveiling their own brand computer screens at the September 2016 Apple Media Event held yesterday. Apple has this year unveiled a new range of displays which have been created in partnership with LG.
The new LG UltraFine 5K and LG UltraFine 4K displays will be available to purchase directly from the Apple online store from December 2016 onwards and priced at $1300 and $700 respectively.
The flagship 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K display offers a massive 5120 x 2880 resolution with P3 wide colour gamut. A single Thunderbolt 3 cable provides up to 85W of charging power to your MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. Together with three downstream USB-C ports offering 5 Gbps. Apple explains more about the perfect companion display for their new MacBook Pro laptop :
The LG UltraFine 5K Display features a 27-inch IPS panel, P3 wide color gamut, and 500 cd/m² of brightness. And with over 14.7 million pixels — 77 percent more than a typical 4K UHD display — the human eye can’t discern the individual pixels.
Perfect for photo and video editing, the UltraFine 5K Display gives you plenty of room for a multitude of tools and windows, while rendering incredibly lifelike images and razor-sharp text instantaneously.
Connect the UltraFine 5K Display to your MacBook Pro via an included Thunderbolt 3 cable, which supports 5K video, audio, and data simultaneously — all while supplying up to 85W of charging power to your MacBook Pro. And with seamless macOS integration, you can control volume and brightness on your 5K display without the need for physical buttons.
Jump over to the official Apple online store for full specifications ahead of the displays availability during December 2016.
