With every update, it is getting more and more difficult to tell messaging apps apart. Now, even WhatsApp has gone the Snapchat way and introduced a photo editor that allows users to draw on pictures, add emojis - basically you can now send Snapchats on WhatsApp.
The feature is currently rolling out to Android users. WhatsApp has said these will be available to iOS users soon.
Now, every time you take a photo you will see a host of editing options pop up on the screen. You can draw on photos, add text, add emojis. The editing tools will also pop up when you select a photo from your storage.
WhatsApp also added support for front-facing flash for taking that perfect selfie, straight from the app's inbuilt camera app. You can also zoom while taking videos now. Just slide your fingers on the screen while taking a video to zoom in or out. Double tap on the screen to switch between front and rear cameras while recording a video.
"Today we're introducing new ways to customize and enhance the photos and videos you share with friends and family around the world. Whether you're drawing a big red heart to show how much you miss someone or adding your favorite emoji - sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. Try adding text too, and change the color and font style," WhatsApp wrote in its blog.
The editing tools are not the first feature a Facebook-owned app has implemented. Just a few days back, Facebook's Messenger app got it's own version of Snapchat Stories, called Messenger Day. The same feature was also introduced on Instagram, another Facebook-owned app.
