Instagram, the Facebook owned app that made waves with image capturing and filters usage is slowly upping its game to cope with other similar apps in the market. Instagram has added two new features to its list where in you could post Live videos and messages that can actually disappear. Well there are no guesses, but Snapchat has this features that been there for quite a long time.

So Instagram is now working on its updates, and the last update we saw was the Live Video Stories, followed with the disappearing images and videos that recently have arrived. These features are needless to say, have been inspired from Snapchat that has these from a very long time. The live video stories came way back in August and the new update allows users to share images and messages to friends or followers that after seen disappear from the application.

For going live on Instagram, all users are required to do is swipe right from the feed that will open the camera, where you could tap on the “Start Live Video” button and share content for up to an hour and once you go live, the friend will be notified and view the message or content. The update gives user freedom, allowing every one viewing the message to comment on it or if the user likes can even turn off the comment section.

The Live video on Instagram Stories and Explore will be available for users globally in coming few weeks, but considering the account is private or public, one can only be able to send disappearing videos and photos if they follow you or you follow them.

Considering the new updates on Instagram, Snapchat has these from a while and is also the most popular social platform with 10 billion video views. Facebook wants to get on with the competition and thus is focusing a lot on updating Instagram.
