Today, we are at a point where the needs of business and society have come together in a powerful way. Technology is the biggest enabler and digital transformation is now touching every aspect of businesses. We are witnessing the emergence of fourth industrial revolution which is changing the way we live, work and relate to one another.
At HPE, we are focused on the Idea Economy - the ability to turn an idea into a new product, new capability, new business or new industry has never been easier. Moreover, HPE continues to look at following areas:

How has life and focus of the company changed after split from the printer division?
Last November, HP separated into two industry-leading companies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and HP Inc. HPE has benefited from strong leadership, employee experience and knowledge coupled with increased agility and responsiveness.
HPE is positioned to usher in a new era of IT by delivering innovations for the Idea Economy. Major technology trends and innovations around Cloud, Big Data, Security and Mobility are disrupting traditional business and IT models. FY16 has been an exciting year for HPE India as we continue to align to the digital transformation taking place in the country. We have focussed on delivering innovation across the data center, servers, storage, networking analytics and security through our extensive R&D capabilities. In addition, HPE India is moving to an industry vertical focused structure. Through this initiative, the focus will be on industries such as BFSI, telecom, manufacturing, e-commerce and public sector.
What are your views on the merger of Dell and EMC and how do you plan to face the competition coming from that quarter?
This presents HPE with a real opportunity. Two of our largest competitors are attempting a highly distracting, multi-year merger. While Dell and EMC are sorting out their future, HPE will be working to take share and advance our technology leadership in key areas like converged infrastructure, hybrid Cloud and all-flash storage.
HPE has not been able to gain enough ground in the IoT space by far? What are your plans with this going forward?
With the proliferation of IoT devices, organisations are challenged to process and analyse, in real-time the Petabyte of data these devices are generating every day. For the IoT ecosystem to function seamlessly, there is a need for a robust networking infrastructure at the backend. HPE has made strides in delivering innovative technology to enable development and delivery of IoT solutions. We are redefining IT at the edge with our next generation Aruba and computing products for campus, branch and IoT applications. Moreover, we have put together a team to collectively work on IoT and Networking, making us uniquely positioned to usher in this new era of IT by delivering innovations for the Idea Economy.
HPE also enables businesses simplify connectivity across the IoT Ecosystem through HPE Universal IoT Platform, which streamlines interoperability and management of heterogeneous IoT Devices and applications.
We launched HPE IoT Innovation Labsto help customers envision how IoT can be applied in their industry, build and test IoT applications and access technical expertise.
Which key technologies will HPE focus on for hiring in the next five years?
Technology is transforming businesses at an unprecedented pace with the rapid growth of trends such as IoT, automation and robotics driving consumption of technologies such as Big Data, analytics and mobility.
Our technology solutions will be as good as the people who work on them. We want the best talent in the country to come and work with us. We seek out to individuals who understand the HPE mission and values which include partnership first, bias for action, innovators at heart, active contribution to make this culture work
How do you see startup ecosystem in India? What are the common mistakes happening in this space?
The Indian startup ecosystem has witnessed tremendous growth towards creation of innovative organisations. According to a recent study by an industry body, India is home to the third largest number of technology driven startups in the world. There is a growing enthusiasm amongst budding entrepreneurs to leverage disruptive technologies to build innovative startups across all sectors. Moreover, the government's 'Startup India' initiative gives boost to the startup ecosystem by addressing the various challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the country.
With increased enthusiasm in this space, coupled with keenness and ability to launch a new business idea, sometimes an entrepreneur may not pay attention to all the key elements required for a successful launch. An entrepreneur may have a great business idea, however executing it seamlessly requires business acumen and experience. Hence it is necessary for entrepreneurs to understand the market dynamics and accordingly customise their products. Additionally, entrepreneurs should avoid getting caught up in competitive battles and instead focus on building and growing a niche market for their offerings. It is also a good practice for an entrepreneur to have experienced industry mentor to help guide through various stages of a startup.
As a women technologist, how do you see the modern tech times in India and how do you see women progressing in this space?
This is an incredible time to be a career-oriented woman in India. India is one of the youngest countries in the world demographically and offers tremendous opportunities to the growing workforce. I see increased enthusiasm, optimism and confidence for women who are looking to mold and develop themselves as future leaders.
Times are changing and we see a larger presence of women in today's workforce. Earlier, the trend was that women would look to focus on their family life at a certain stage of their careers. However in today's modern tech world, women are increasingly looking to balance work and life and stay longer in workforce. As a result you see many more women leaders in tech today.
