A new smart lighting system has been launched via Kickstarter this week called Kiën’s LICHT 1 which has been designed to pay tribute to the iconic shape of the neon tube.

Licht 1 is an intelligent and modular light system that supports app control via smartphones as well as tablets with our native Kiën app (for iOS, Android & Windows) and is able to emulate natural daylight in your home and office. Our pendant lamp is available in three different materials (concrete, wood and aluminum) and is locally manufactured in Berlin, Germany. All functional components are 3D printed to ensure highest production quality. Our systems monitor functional values like heat dissipation and energy expenditure (only if you opt-in) of every lamp to make sure that this lamp is built to last.
Especially for people that have a sense for aesthetics, lighting conditions should matter. Licht 1 has one of the highest Color-Rendering-Index (CRI) values on the market (90+) – CRI indicates how truthfully the color is being displayed compared to natural light sources.
