Every other day for the past couple of weeks, we have been hearing something or the other about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Some said it will have a bezel-less screen while others said it will sport dual cameras and even more thought it will be the first Xiaomi phone to have a flexible, bendable display. With the launch of the Mi Note successor set for October 25, all the confusion will be cleared. For now, here's some more interesting speculations.

Leaked presentation slides for the upcoming October 25th launch posted on Chinese social networking site Weibo and picked up by PhoneArena indicates a little disappointment after all the hype. It seems the Mi Note 2 will sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution and Force Touch technology. Force Touch or 3D Touch is the tech first invented by Apple for the iPhone 6s where the screen is pressure sensitive to long presses and displays additional shortcuts directly on the home screen. Forget the flexible screen, there won't even be a bezel-less display. However, the Super AMOLED display gurantees compatibility with Google's Daydream VR platform.

Apart from this, there will be the Snapdragon 821 processor (the one powering the Google Pixel phones). Also, the smartphone is coming out in two RAM and storage variants- one with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage and another with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

What the leaks does confirm is the inclusion of dual cameras on the Mi Note 2. The phone is going to have two sensors at the back- one 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor and another 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 sensor. It's unclear as to how Xiaomi has programmed the dual sensors to take photos. The Redmi Pro also has dual cameras where one is used to take the photo and the other to adjust the depth of field. The rear cameras will have a dual-tone LED flash with 4K video recording and OIS.

On the front, there will be an 8-megapixel camera.

Like the Mi 5s, the Mi Note 2 will have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded under the display and going by the leaked slides, it will also have an iris scanner that we have seen in the now discontinued Galaxy Note 7.

The Mi Note 2 will pack a humongous 4100mAh battery with support for Quick Charge technology and will run on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The price of the lower RAM/storage variant will be CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs 27,800) while the higher variant will be priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 29,800), as revealed in the leaked slides.
