Huawei confirms Android7.0 Nougat Update for its Smartphones

Being the latest update on Android platform, the Nougat v7.0 operating system is something everyone wants in their smartphones. Many companies like Samsung, Sony and HTC have already announced on their plans to roll out the latest Android Nougat software update.

Huawei too has now confirmed on its plans to roll out the update that will come on the company’s EMUI 5.0 ROM, most likely by the first quarter of next year on some of the selected models.

The update will be available for the following handsets like Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei Mate 8, Huawei Nova Plus and Huawei Nova. These eing only about one year old handsets, there is no official confirmation, if the ones before these would also be getting the update. Marked for the first quarter in 2017, there still is no affirmative confirmation about the date on which the company will officially start sending the official update.

Since the Mate 9 was launched hardly a month back, Huawei would likely be sending out updates to it first, including the Mate 8, followed with all other devices that are mentioned in the list.

Huawei also points out that the new EMUI 5.0 ROM would fetch a lot of step ups in the complete interface of the software that will aid in offering better and improved security. The company at the press release also went out to state that with the new ROM from the company ‘users can activate 90 percent of the main functions in only two or three clicks'.

The new EMUI 5.0 will also help improve the machine understanding ability that learns the users app accessibility and optimize the resource automatically. Apart from ‘App Lock’ facility by which user can lock apps, the ROM will also deliver much improved power management, which would offer battery efficiency.
