Amazon is apparently working on a new advanced voice recognition feature for Amazon Alexa, the feature is apparently called Voice ID internally at Amazon.
At the moment the Amazon Alexa assistant is unable to determine the difference between different peoples voices, this is something that Amazon is looking to change.
The company has been working on their Voice ID feature since 2015 and the feature would be able to differentiate between different people’s voices.
According to a recent report by Time, the technology behind the Voice ID feature is ready, it just needs to be integrated into the existing Alexa system.
Amazon have apparently not decided as yet on whether they will actually introduce this feature, although we suspect that this is something that they will look at adding in the future.
